La Facha Hostel & Restaurant
Fifteen metres from the sand at Mompiche, beside one of the best left-handers in Ecuador — and a restaurant the owner has made the reason many people stay.

About this camp
Mompiche is a small village on the Esmeraldas coast in Ecuador's far north, and its draw is a long left-hand point that a lot of Ecuadorian surfers will name as the country's best. La Facha sits a few metres from the beach on the road parallel to the malecón, with private rooms and dorms, hot water, and a surf shop renting boards and arranging lessons. What sets it apart locally is not the surfing but the kitchen: the owner runs a fusion restaurant that has drawn guidebook attention as the best food in the village, which in a place this size is a meaningful part of the week. It is a surf hostel rather than a structured camp — lessons are arranged rather than sold as a programme, and booked over WhatsApp. Ecuador's season runs roughly Dec–Apr. Honest caveats: no prices of any kind are published on its own site, and its accommodation booking hands off to an external checkout platform, so nothing is recorded here as a rate. Its recency signal is a current-year copyright that may be auto-generated, backed by a live listing on a major hostel platform carrying current prices — reasonable corroboration, but not the operator dating its own season. Lesson content, group sizes and instructor certification are not described anywhere, so none is claimed. The pin is the Mompiche village centroid; note that a naive search for 'Mompiche' returns the river rather than the village, which is not where the hostel is.
