Surfing Wombats
A social hostel one minute from Lazy Left with beds from about nine euros — listed honestly as a surf STAY, because it books lessons with other schools rather than teaching itself.

About this camp
A hostel rather than a surf camp, and the distinction is the reason it is described this way rather than dressed up. Surfing Wombats does not run its own surf school: it arranges lessons through local schools in the village, so what it sells is a bed, a social scene and a one-minute walk to Lazy Left — which for a lot of people in Midigama is exactly the right product. It is included on the same basis as other notable surf-branded stays in this catalogue, labelled as a stay rather than counted as instruction. Beds start around nine euros a night across private doubles and triples, newly built dorms, and private or shared glamping tents. The social programme is unusually specific for a hostel — an Italian restaurant on site, open-mic Tuesdays, Friday ping-pong tournaments, yoga and film nights — which tells you the kind of week you would have. South-coast season is Nov–Apr. Honest caveats: because the teaching is outsourced, nothing about lesson quality, group size or instructor certification can be attributed to this listing, and none is claimed. Its site shows no current year or booking calendar, and the published nightly rate is a from-price in euros. The pin is the Midigama village centroid rather than the building.
