About this camp
This is a wave pool, not a surf break — be clear-eyed about that before booking. SurfWay Hainan operates the PerfectSwell wave system (American Wave Machines) built at Riyue Bay as a state-backed project developed by China Tourism Group, and opened to the public in November 2025 with roughly 130 rooms on site. The appeal is consistency: bookable sessions with repeatable, machine-made waves on a fixed schedule, which sidesteps the natural bay's short northeast-monsoon window entirely. The honest caveats: it is a resort/venue experience rather than a traditional surf camp or school, pricing and session structure are set by the operator rather than compared across providers, and this is a genuinely new facility (opened under a year ago at verification time) with a thinner track record than the long-running camps elsewhere in this guide. The natural Riyue Bay beach break sits right next door and is listed separately as a spot.
