About this camp
Five rooms, each with its own bathroom, an upstairs kitchen and bar, and a surf school that is essentially one person: Shaggy, a local instructor who appeared on the cover of Sri Lanka's first surf magazine. That is the shape of the place and it is worth stating plainly, because it is the difference between this and a camp with a rota of seasonal coaches — guests review the instruction by name, and three levels are offered, from complete beginner through to guided sessions across the south-coast breaks for people who no longer need teaching. It sits in Midigama East, two minutes' walk from Midigama Beach, and is the closest accommodation to Ram's; Lazy Left and Coconuts are walkable. Lessons also run at Weligama, fifteen minutes away, when Midigama is too much for a first-timer. The season here is Nov–Apr. Honest caveats: it publishes no prices anywhere and asks for a quotation request instead, so no rate is recorded. Its own website is a Wix subdomain carrying no year or season, so the confirmation that it is trading comes from a live listing on a major booking platform plus active social accounts rather than from the site. At five rooms it is a genuinely small owner-run operation, which is why the thin web presence is not itself a red flag — but it does mean this entry should be re-checked sooner than a camp that publishes its own calendar.
