Riyue Bay
Riyue Bay (Sun and Moon Bay) is mainland China's best-known natural surf beach and home of the national surf training base — a crescent bay split by a headland into two coves on Hainan's east coast. This entry is the natural beach break only; it is kept distinct from the new man-made PerfectSwell wave pool built nearby (see c-surfway-hainan), which is NOT represented here as a spot since the waveType enum has no honest value for an artificial wave. Coordinates cross-checked between Wikidata (Q16900903) and English Wikipedia.

A genuine, if seasonal, beach break — sand bottom, open bay, forgiving on smaller days. Typhoon season (Jul–Sep) can produce surf but is hazardous and not a reliable learning window; stick to the Oct–Mar NE-monsoon season.
