About this camp
A coaching operation at Playa Encuentro, the most consistent break on the island, on the stretch of north coast between Cabarete and Sosúa. Two things distinguish it from the several schools working the same beach. The instruction is built around video analysis rather than water time alone, and it extends past surfing into surfskate, mobility work, yoga and cold-water recovery — a full-week structure rather than a series of lessons. And the instructors are stated to be US-certified lifeguards as well as ISA-certified coaches, which is a meaningful claim at a reef break that gets crowded. Encuentro's season runs roughly Nov–Mar, when the north-facing coast picks up Atlantic swell. Honest caveats, and the accommodation one matters: **this is a school, not a stay.** Its lodging is a partnership with El Encuentro Surf Lodge, which is listed separately in this catalogue as its own business — booking one is not booking the other, and the room you get is theirs, not this operator's. No prices are published on its own site; a third-party listing quotes around US$1,085 for a seven-day retreat, which is recorded here only as an indication and not as the operator's own published figure. Its recency signal is a 2025 copyright under the trading company's name. Booking is by WhatsApp rather than a booking engine.
