Chinaman
A sand-bar break on the lagoon side of Chinamans Drive, and the gentle counterpoint to Jakes Point down the road. Wannasurf logs it as a beginner's wave, sloppy and powerless, breaking right and left in short (under 50m) rides — but rarely, only around five days a year, so it is a bonus rather than a plan.

Find my Level →Beginner notes
The gentlest wave in this part of the catalogue, but its own published size (3-5ft typical) keeps it a grade above the site's true Level-1 floor, not a reliable first-timer spot. Unreliable too: wannasurf logs it breaking only about five days a year. Longboards only; a shortboard will not plane on it. No lifeguards and no school.
